The Open-IPVideo Forum is a trade organization in charge of promoting open network video architectures, thus allowing the video operators, public or private entities, to chose the best technical and economical solution, whoever the hardware or software vendor may be.
Such open architecture takes advantage of the IP convergence protocol and will benefit from new specifications as developed by standard bodies such as AFNOR, Onvif or PSIAlliance.
Open-IPVideo Forum’s main mission is to formalize and organize the ecosystem through plugfests. A certification process will ensure that the products and services are on line with the market requirements.
The Open-IPVideo Forum will build a library of case studies as a reference for video deployments. Through white papers and test reports, decision makers will be able to have a global view of a video project concepts and requirements, and they will be able to consult the Forum to check and validate their technological choices.
Members of the Open-IPVideo Forum are camera vendors, storage and network vendors, software editors, telco operators, consultants and other professionals part of the ecosystem.
