Fire Fighting solutions Federation FranceExpoprotection 2008 will demonstrate through its “fire fighting” area the world class performance level of fire safety that has been reached and implemented in France.
Under FFMI’s membership, 10 Groups cover the complete field of active fire protection systems and components, rescue equipments and fire fighting vehicles. Together the 250 companies federated under the FFMI guidance represent 90% of the whole market in France.
The Federation’s experts initiate all the revisions of technical regulations and strandards tied to the 7 European directives that rule the sector. FFMI aims at satisfying the end user’s requirements by certifying the products, the associated services, the firms that develop and deploy them, and the dedicated specialized resources.
110 experts work continuously through 7 European Technical Committees to define harmonized standards within the Single Market. Their work is handed over to ISO, for contributing and aligning with the International Organization for Standardization.
In France, the Federation and its Groups implement ruling systems to maintain the quality and technological leadership of all the fire safety sectors, with the overall goal of guaranteeing a fair competition within Europe.
It requires both to take into account the requirements of the European directives and to maintain the quality specifications of fire fighting solutions through the volunteer certifications. The voluntary certification system brings their operational reliability, their fit for use and efficiency.
Calling on the FFMI’s certified firms guarantees to the end user an updated safety level, permanently maintained in compliance with the evolving regulations and the state of the art practices.
This standards compliance is the most effective protection of human being’s life and assets, due to the fire fighting solutions that are implemented in France and/or exported.
